As a reward after we finished base camp, we trekked back down to 4800m or so and had a night of acclimatization (relief) before venturing back upwards the next day to Chola Pass (5350m) and on to Gokyo Lake. The air was sweeter after dropping even just 500m and my headache subsided. I could finally enjoy the views again.
The walk to Dzongla was breathtaking that day. I was in another world of happiness. Clouds kept sweeping in and out, revealing little previews and making much more real, how high into the sky we really were.
